“How To Avoid Death By PowerPoint” (c) David Phillips

Few Notes about how to do a good presentation from the David Phillips´  speech  on TEDx talks:

  1. One message per slide.
  2. Avoid Long Sentences on the slides.  People cannot listen and read at the same time. If speaking at the same time, put less information on the slide.
  3. Contrast and font size to stay on focused. Bigger font attract more attention. Most important parts should be writeen with the biggest font. Contrast. More contrast on the point of the attention.
  4. Dark background of the presentation. So the speaker will attract the focus as attention as he is the most important part of the presentation. But not the light colour of the presentation.
  5. Object counting up to 6.  Six objects is magical number. Perception of more objects form one slide requires 500% more of brain energy.

The number of slides is not a problem. The problem is too much objects on the slides.

This is magnificent. Thank you very much David!
